New track, familiar surroundings
What an incredible event!

The first Pitbike outdoor training in Mülsen with many familiar faces
Hardly any description could fit the Pitbike outdoor training at the Motorsportarena Mülsen better. Although the track was a new unknown for the largest part of the paddock, at the latest at sign-in one or two familiar faces could be spotted. RACETRCK is here! And with it a relaxed yet reliably professional atmosphere. Starting at registration, a good half of the paddock was able to log a passed technical inspection already on the day of arrival. In a positive mood, the weekend was kicked off with grilled food and a few cold drinks.
Saturday morning started early as usual with a riders‘ briefing to point out the finer details of the track, the applicable rules and the schedule to all participants. Once that item was ticked off as well, the participation sticker could be marked not only with the riding group and the passed technical inspection but also with attendance at the riders‘ briefing. All preparations were therefore complete and around 80 riders were ready for turn one. Groups A and B were extremely quick from the very start and gave consistently positive feedback on the track surface and layout. Next up were groups C and D, which also allowed the first rental bike riders onto the track. At the lunch break, participants were regrouped for the first time based on the lap times they had set.
Despite some minor technical issues, the team kept the track clean for all participants and was thus able to prevent crashes.
Saturday came to an end with sunny weather and a shared meal; the icing on the cake was the raffle, where several participants were once again able to look forward to prizes.
Well rested, the final day followed: Sunday, race day!
All participants were able to start the group turns on time and thus find those last tenths for their grid position in the afternoon. With a full field, the morning moved straight into the second half of the day. After all, two races were still on the supporting programme: the 160cc and the Open class. With 24 starters, the pit lane filled up for the outlap of the 160cc Pitbikes. At the latest during the starting grid and the warm-up lap it became clear what all the spectators in the grandstands of the Motorsportarena would be able to admire a little later: the largest starting field in the event’s history.
Despite the tension, all starters got away well from their grid positions and through the first lap.
After 15 laps everyone was able to see the chequered flag, and by then at the latest there was a broad grin on every face.
The next race, however, followed immediately afterwards: the Open class.
With fewer starters, the grid formed up here as well; whether experienced riders or racing newcomers, everyone found their place.
Here too the race was completed without any retirements, certainly also thanks to absolutely fair riding and mutual consideration, so that fortunately the on-site medical service did not have to be deployed.
After the 15 laps were up, the tension likewise eased for all the marshals, who had been doubled up throughout since the start of the 160cc race and had been hoping for a good race.
The prize-giving ceremony followed, where the riders were greeted by the spectators with loud applause.
Afterwards, groups A-D were able to ride once more; despite the great effort of the races, this opportunity was gladly taken and used right up to the end of the event.
As organisers, we thank all participants, hope to see you again soon and wish everyone an injury-free rest of the season!
